Allowing content from unknown sources helped him fix it, if anyone in the future is experiencing this issue, try doing that.Īlso yes, this thread is a year old but I felt like it was worth mentioning it anyway. My friend is using Oculus Quest without a linked cable, and was experiencing the "unknown source" issue. Originally posted by Kelrycor:I have the Valve Index. Launch the game from Steam Home without immediate crash! There is no save button, just close the windowĥ. Change the Open XR Runtime to "SteamVR" Select "Developer" from the left-hand menu list On the bottom left, toggle ON the Advanced Settings option In the open window, click the three-lines icon to pop open a menu, and choose settings Connect your headset, and open up Steam VR Set the VR Engine in the Steam VR Settings. In the bottom where it says Launch Options, add in "-openvr"Ĥ. Right click on the game title and select "Properties." Then you can quit, the rest doesn't matter and you can change the options in VR later. Opened the game in "normal game" mode to accept the terms in game, and all that jazz. We are looking into why this is happening. Reinstalling the game should also fix it. I recommend a reboot even if you are not prompted.Ģ. 1 Sono 12:37pm Originally posted by Dknighter: Hey, you need to go into your SteamVR bindings and reset them. Updated my drivers from nvidia's website. There's so much background work it does, it is the best way to go.Īssuming you don't have that issue, here's what's I didġ. I suggest uninstalling everything, and using the HTC Installer. If your headset isn't working, and you can't even get to Steam Home, then you need to go back to the classic uninstall and reinstall process. You don't need to reinstall anything if other games are working fine. I spent a long time trying to get this to launch, and I'll share how I got it working on my Cosmos Elite Set with 1.0 lighthouse and controllers (I had the original VIVE in the past). Maybe someone, who own the Oculus Quest and plays Phasmo right now will jump in this discussion and tells us how he managed it to work? Modify Phasmophobia properties -> General -> Launch options -> Type "-oculus" for Oculus -> Retry all the solutions before.Ī more finicky way is described here in the comments: Open Oculus app -> Launch SteamVR from oculus app -> Launch Phasmophobia from my "Steam House" Open Oculus app -> then open SteamVR -> Launch Phasmophobia for VR from steam app. Open Oculus app and allow VR content from unknown sources It may all feel a bit cliché to horror buffs, but it. Theres a Ouija board to communicate with the dead, a Crucifix for protection, and even a Sprit Box which can allow players to talk with a spirit and ask it questions. ![]() Phasmophobia has plenty of typical horror tools to keep players feeling uneasy. Though Kinetic Games seem to have this as a developement goal and you find it on the Trello backlog under "VR overhaul" that they want to switch from OpenVR to OpenXR to support more headsets: īut the Oculus Quest should be able to run the game, at least some players managed to do this by just using Steam VR Home via link cable. The Real Reason Phasmophobia Is So Scary. The Oculus Quest being one of them, unfortunetaly. Good luck, and excuse my bad English. As far as I read, Phasmophobia does not support every headset right now. Sometimes Ive disbled virtual desktop / oculus audio and mic devices for this reason, when I only wanna use my headphones. If you dont want to use the Quest2 audio/mic, and wanna use your headphones instead, dont do anything of the above, but check that your audio and mic didnt change after you connect via virtual desktop. Select “virtual desktop audio stream” and try the test (give us a sign). Then, ingame, when you check your voice recognition you can choose which one you want to use among all the available ones. ![]() You also have to set the “virtual desktop audio” as your default mic/audio from the Windows audio device manager too. Im on vacations so i dont have my PC here so its difficult to explain, but in short if you are using virtual desktop you have to mark the option “stream audio” (or somethinh like this) in the desktop app, and enable that in the virtual desktop app from the VR app too. So Im forced to exit the lobby and enter again in order to fix it (restart the game is not needed). The problem is after play a game and back to the lobby, some players cant hear me (some times only one cant hear me, but some times no one can).
